What Should You Expect During a Reiki Session?

Have you ever wondered what a Reiki session is like? Perhaps you’re curious if it’s something for you but are unsure how to find out more information. Or perhaps you’re afraid of how your body might respond. Here are a few pointers:
Do Your Research
Be sure the Reiki practitioner is certified and has experience. Try to find someone with a website and testimonials. Get referrals from your local yoga teacher or acupuncturist.
Donation Clinics
These are a great way to test out Reiki without spending a lot of money. Most Reiki sessions can cost anywhere from $50 – $90 / hour. Donation clinics only ask that you donate what you can. It may be hard to find these but if you do, you’re in luck.
What Will Reiki Treat?
Reiki is great for all kinds of ailments ranging from physical pain to emotional suffering. I’ve sought Reiki treatment for my chronic migraines, anxiety, hip pain, and grief. It’s not advisable if you have a serious condition such as cancer to limit your treatment to Reiki. But often people will choose Reiki as a supplemental form of healing.
What Does it Feel Like?
Everyone is different. I know people who get really hot after a Reiki session. Others will feel lightheaded. For me, I feel very relaxed and calm. The energy is never overwhelming for me. Perhaps I’m not as sensitive as others or I’m not as attuned with the energy.
