    How I managed my migraines naturally My essay is up today at Exploring Wellness. I talk about how I decided my life needed a change when I was suffering from 15-20 migraine days a month. I was miserable and stressed out. I was tired of taking so many drugs. Reiki came to my rescue and from there I learned how to maintain a consistent meditation and yoga practice.     In October 2018, I signed up for the Bridge to Commercial Coverage program for Aimovig. It offered twelve free doses until my insurance carrier approved. My neurologist started me off with one 70mg dose. The program even offered a nurse to come to my home to help me with the injection. Even though I’m a wimp when it comes to shots, it wasn’t that bad. I also continued with yoga, acupuncture, and meditation, something that had already been reducing my migraines from 15 a month to 6. That first month, I didn’t notice much difference. Here are a few ways you can continue to support the AAPI community every day.

From buying books from AAPI authors to supporting Asian-owned businesses (like one of my favorites @kirariwest!), there are so many ways to show support and solidarity.
 
Consider donating to organizations supporting AAPI, like Asians with Attitudes. It started as a neighborhood patrol in Oakland but has since expanded. They’re protecting our elders and ensuring their safety. Now they are transitioning to a non-profit as they want to empower the community through events, youth camps, and help Asian businesses who have suffered. 

Sign up for bystander intervention training! It’s virtual, free, and they’ve added more sessions. Thank you @hollaback and @advancingjustice!

And there are numerous organizations supporting not just AAPI but the entire Asian diaspora!
