Health & Wellness

For years I suffered from chronic migraines. I tried all sorts of treatments for relief and nothing seemed to stick. When my neurologist prescribed me anti-depressants as a preventive treatment, he added “maybe it will make you happy.”
That’s when it hit me: I was most definitely not happy. And I hadn’t been for a long time.

I vowed to make some changes in my life. I sought a new path. I tried things like Reiki, yoga, meditation, and acupuncture. Slowly, my migraines decreased and my anxiety dissipated.
Other issues like chronic inflammation and hair loss subsided. I was amazed. Up until that point I didn’t think the mind and body were connected. How wrong I was.
I’m now better able to manage my migraines using both conventional treatment and alternative methods. There’s no one right way to handle this debilitating disease but I want migraine sufferers to know they have many options.
Don’t give up and whether you want to heal holistically or follow a combination of conventional medication with natural methods, do what works for you.
Just remember to breathe and pause. Relief and joy are within your grasp.
